Most of us have a fear of something or other, but sometimes these fears can become so strong that they begin to effect our day-to-day lives, or prevent us from doing something we really want to do. A phobia is an irrational fear that creates a panic response to something that we rationally know can’t hurt us. Phobias can really take their toll on our mental health if left untreated, especially if they concern something that is unavoidable in life. They can even cause problems to our physical wellbeing, such as a fear of the dentist or a fear of needles preventing us from seeking proper medical treatment. Perhaps you would dearly love to go on holiday with your family, but a fear of flying is holding you back; or maybe fear of a particular animal is stopping you from picking a particular destination? Perhaps an anxiety about public speaking, interviews or social situations is holding you back in your career?
Hypnotherapy is a quick and effective way of overcoming a phobia, no matter how severe or silly it may seem. Sometimes people delay seeking treatment for a phobia because they worry that they will be made to face the thing they fear head on – in hypnotherapy this does not happen, you face things in your own time and at your own pace. I have helped people overcome many phobias, from interview anxiety to spiders and the feedback I get is always positive. I find it to be one of the most enjoyable treatments and is also one of the quickest. Treatment comprises the usual free phone or Skype consultation followed by three further sessions. You will also receive a free CD and support material.
